As Your Outdoor Living Needs Change, Archadeck Is Here To Bring Your Vision To Life

It’s a fact of life that as time marches on, needs and priorities often change. Take your backyard for instance.

The inground pool idea has been a blessing, especially on those dog-tired Dallas days. The patio surrounding it, a no-brainer, following the contour of the pool it provides easy access while featuring great outdoor leisure space to lounge.

The alfresco dining table, just two steps from the house interior, is simply wonderful, to escape the monotony of the interior eat-in kitchen.

For shade and architectural interest, the pergola was a great home improvement addition – on many levels.

But now that the family had enjoyed it for many seasons, they thought it all could be even better – especially when it came to protecting them from intense sun rays and inclement weather changes that often happen at a moment’s notice.

The solution? To help figure that out, they called master outdoor living design consultants and local owners, Agustin and Amanda Garza, at Archadeck Outdoor Living.

When Architectural Design Excellence Meets Weather Protection Necessity, That’s Where Archadeck Shines

The photos speak for themselves. You can just imagine how much more enjoyable and convenient this family’s outdoor living has become with this covered, shaded outdoor patio upgrade.

The solution was to design and construct an attached shed roof with a gable dormer roof – the quintessence of form, function and fantastic beauty.

The new shed roof with a gable dormer roof measures 18 feet by 12 feet with a one-foot overhang.

From the side rear, you’ll notice the ingenious support structure of three roof risers, meticulously custom made for this covered patio outdoor living upgrade. The creatively ingenious design allows for fresh air flow from above to comfort the family and guests while enjoying dinner or just hanging out for some great conversation.

Once inside the newly protected space, a glance upward reveals a stunning overhead Tongue and Groove ceiling crafted out of 1" x 6" pine and stained dark walnut to complement the handsome exposed beams which were stained mission brown.

As for the exterior of the new patio roof, it was crafted out of metal with a standing seam in bronze. In addition to its functional beauty, the metal fabrication provides the lovely ambient patter of raindrops when the family remains well covered and protected during a sudden downpour in their great outdoors.

The existing steel support posts from the previous pergola structure were repurposed, and the columns were wrapped with Granbury Chopped Limestone, a perennial Dallas favorite. Known for its variegated subtle Earth tones of oatmeal, gray and gold within its white foundation, the enhanced support feature provides both an elegant and strong entrance and exit point for the refurbished patio space.

Speaking of exits, our team also replaced the original double panel door with a new tailored glass panel door with sidelights left and right. This 36 inches wide by 80 inches high pre-hung metal glass door provides extra comfort inside the home. With the glass being Low-E, or low-emissivity, it minimizes the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light that comes through the glass, without minimizing the amount of light that enters your home. Low-E glass door panels and sidelights have a microscopically thin coating that is transparent and reflects heat. These Low-E coatings keep the temperature in your home consistent by reflecting the interior temperatures back inside.

Electrical Necessities Installed With Care And Precision

As the newly covered patio structure was being completed, our team also installed two switches with a dimmer/fan speed control, four bullet lights for evening illumination and ambience, an overhead fan and an electrical outlet.
