Elegant Outdoor Kitchen Addition In Dallas, TX

This elegant custom outdoor kitchen addition in Dallas, just may leave these clients kissing their interior kitchen goodbye!

L-shaped dallas outdoor kitchen designs

Like the old adage goes “It’s not where you start, it’s where you finish.”

Such is the case with this incredibly elegant outdoor kitchen we designed and installed for these Dallas homeowners.

This outdoor oasis was a beauty in its own rite, before Archadeck even began to enhance the existing space. With arched columns, graced by a stamped stacked stone knee wall, if you didn’t know better, you’d swear these photos are from a romantic Tuscan hillside villa. But that’s not the case. They are from right here in Dallas, Texas.

In fact, if you view the before images of this covered porch space, you will see the reveal of this Dallas luxurious outdoor kitchen design from several perspectives.

Think Of It As The Outdoor Pumpkin That Was Magically Transformed Into An Outdoor Wonderland For The Senses

Before our Dallas outdoor kitchen builder design team arrived for this family’s free design consultation, there was just this beautifully appointed shell of a covered patio.

Area before Archadeck installed the outdoor kitchen addition.

Without any outdoor living functional amenities whatsoever, our space solution wheels started to turn, much to the pleasure of the family.

First of all, what an incredible space to have the opportunity to work in and transform. The luxe, lush landscape, reflecting glimmers of sunlight as it swayed and played through the branches of the trees took our breath away.

Add to that experience the majesty of those wide beams on the covered patio and the variegated stone façade on the house. It’s simply stunning to look at. Be sure to notice the little architectural “swoop” in the one picture revealing the uniqueness of the design of the home. Country French, we call it.

Inside this incredible area, our mission was to design the ultimate outdoor kitchen space. Our design strategy – to focus on look, feel and functionality – was to use an L-shaped structure for the space.

In doing so, it empowered the homeowners to enjoy a streamlined, convenient, functional flow for cooks without creating a barrier between the prep, cooking and lounge/entertaining space, as a U-shaped layout might.

As with many of our outdoor kitchen solutions, the most important element to start with is logical thinking. What will give our client precisely what they are looking for? How can we add value to that wish list by thinking creatively and incorporating as many outdoor kitchen innovations as possible that have come to market of late?

The L-Word For Outdoor Kitchen Design Is The Hottest Trend Going

To begin with, there are several considerations when planning an outdoor kitchen upgrade or addition, from placement on your property to required square footage to include the amenities and features requested.

We also need to consider matching the upgrade to the existing architecture of your home so the addition isn’t obviously new construction. And we want to be sure we use natural-looking building materials that look like they belong in that particular landscape.

Another benefit of the L-shaped outdoor kitchen is if you stick with clean lines, a simple design, and a neutral color palette, you can create a breathtaking exterior kitchen that perfectly complements your individual style.

This small, contemporary patio space is a great example, thanks to a minimalist approach that includes a stucco base in a sandy shade that blends perfectly with the building exterior, topped by a honed black granite countertop that underscores, rather than competes with, the modern architecture and landscaping.

This Dallas custom outdoor kitchens builder selected Grey Granbury chopped stone for the exterior L-shaped kitchen work area and used charcoal Lueders stone for the countertop.

Staying within the Texas “coloring lines” if you will, Lueders Limestone is a tried and true Texas limestone and is sawn on top, as well as the bottom.

It contains a rich variation in gradients and colors from buff, light-gold, to dove gray and even deeper, richer tones as we have here. Notably, Lueders limestone originates from a well-established stone quarry in North Texas.

Featured within this dream of an outdoor kitchen is a Blaze 4LTE burner grill with illumination – arguably the last outdoor grill they will ever have to buy. Other “top chef” must-haves include a Blaze built-in griddle, Blaze door/drawer combo, Blaze trash can and Blaze fridge.

Having these superior outdoor kitchen essentials to work with is a blessing – so much so that we have become a distributor for Blaze.
