Sometimes there is a project that just makes you say “WOW” – our most recent project in Dallas is one of those types of designs.
Modern, innovative, sleek, urban, and chic are all adjectives that best describe this unique project Archadeck just completed for this client .
When we initially met with this homeowner, he was very sure of the type of space and look he wanted to achieve. Distinctly wanting a custom outdoor kitchen with a curved steel framed trellis overhead. With all the specifications in hand, Archadeck of Northeast Dallas-Southlake got to work on designing and building this one-of-a-kind addition.
The outdoor kitchen and overhead trellis/pergola is the star of the show on this project. Placement of the kitchen was designed within an area to the left of the pool and existing patio surround, which originally encompassed landscape and plants.
Before
Archadeck added a flagstone patio extension which matches that of the existing pool surround. We also added that same flagstone to the area on the far end of the poolside which was a flagstone path.
The new flagstone, and power washing the existing, ensured the new and existing spaces flowed together as one.
After
Once the patio base for the new outdoor kitchen was completed we then began work on the outdoor kitchen addition. The kitchen was built using a mix of 4”, 6” and 8” chopped Oklahoma stone. The design is flanked by a curved, steel-framed bar and trellis above. We worked with a welder on this project and the steel areas were all custom-welded with precision.
Finishing off the steel-framed trellis is a curved, cedar fanned trellis top. All of which was sealed in dark Walnut to give the space a more masculine aesthetic. Underneath the trellis area is where the extended curved bar, also with metal framing, is located. We used gray Lueder’s stone tops for the tops on the bar area along with topping the other kitchen countertop surfaces.
Components the homeowner chose to complete the outdoor kitchen include an Egg smoker, grill with double stainless steel access doors underneath, storage drawers, trash can and also a drop in cooler that will soon be installed.
In grand Archadeck fashion, we finished out the project by installing sod to any bare areas in the back landscape.
This project was a joy to design and build for these Dallas homeowners. They are elated with the final outcome and are looking forward to years of enjoyment from the addition!
