When these Dallas homeowners reached out to Archadeck of Northeast Dallas, they weren’t just looking for a quick addition to their home. They wanted to extend their indoor space into the outdoors without compromising their comfort or the character of their home.
The end result was a refined, highly functional 3-season room designed for everything from morning coffee to evening gatherings. We’ll show you what that looks like in this post.
As an experienced Dallas 3 season room contractor, we know the best projects begin with a clear vision and we’re here to turn visions into real spaces. For this home, that meant balancing warmth and airflow, blending materials with the existing architecture, and focusing on craftsmanship down to the detail.

The new 3 season room needed to fit in with the rest of the house—so here’s what we did.
The homeowners wanted a space that felt like it was always part of the floorplan. That means we had to avoid the room feeling like it was simply “tacked on.”
So, in order to do this, we started by building a 17x20 gable roof, using shingles that matched the house perfectly for visual continuity. Inside, we added two 24x48 skylights to draw in natural light while keeping the space bright and open.

To create a warm, finished feel, we installed tongue-and-groove pine on the ceiling, stained in Sherwin Williams’ translucent Woodridge finish. Trim was painted crisp white to match the existing home exterior, tying the new structure in with the original footprint.
Lighting was another important detail. This space needed to function from day to night, so we couldn’t just depend on the skylights. That’s why we installed four can lights and a central ceiling fan to provide ambient light and airflow.

If you need a comfortable space for year-round use, a trusted Dallas 3 season room builder can help you make that happen.
For airflow and bug protection, we used the ScreenEze system, adding both a French door aluminum kit and a standard aluminum screen door for access from either side. This added a number of benefits, including making the space more flexible, helping with traffic flow, and making it more functional even on short and cold winter days.
One of the homeowners’ favorite features was the converted fireplace that we added. We helped them transform an old interior wood-burning fireplace into a new gas unit that extends into the 3-season room. With the press of a button, they can add both warmth and ambiance to their space, making it more usable even on chilly evenings.
The foundation of the room is just as intentional as the roofline. We poured a new stamped concrete floor in Asher Slate Platinum with a charcoal release. This gave the floor subtle texture and visual interest without overpowering the natural wood elements above.
We also replaced the French doors leading from the interior to the room, giving the transition a clean, refreshed look that matched the quality of the new space.
