During our initial design consultation, the Dallas homeowners of this lovely backyard combo told us they wanted a sleek and contemporary arrangement. Our team was quick to design this eye-catching pergola/patio combo that perfectly aligned with their design goals.

It is not all that often that we get a unique pergola design request like this one. When these Dallas homeowners reached out to Archadeck, they were looking for a dynamic way to add more space and shade to their back patio. During our consultation, they expressed their love for modern style.

Our goal was to deliver a design that addressed their spatial and functionality needs, but also one that reflected their upbeat, contemporary style preference.
Backyard before Archadeck of Northeast Dallas-Southlake began the project.
The design we came up with encompassed a flat-top pergola with no overhangs painted in a monochromatic hue. The new pergola design is situated over the new extended stain and stamp patio which was finished in shades of gray, giving it an edgy, urban appeal.
Not only did we give the space heightened aesthetic value, we also expanded the footprint of the patio area. The new stain and stamp patio was built using the wooden stamp pattern and stained in gray with a charcoal release.
The patio colors provide a striking contrast to the pergola, which we painted in all white, and against the white brick façade of the home.
As you can see from these overhead images, the pergola was not tied directly into the home’s roofline. Instead we used the Skylift roof bracket system to keep from penetrating the roofline of the home. These brackets are unique because they allow you to attach the pergola well above any rain gutter without interfering with your roof's support system. This added element only increases the modern feel of the space.

Last but not least, we installed custom wood shelving within the alcove area on the left of the fireplace bump out. The shelving, outdoor TV mount and ceiling fan give the space the feel of an outdoor media room – the perfect place to read, watch TV or host a family game night!
