Natural Stone Sets The Stage For This Blacklick OH Outdoor Living Space

Before our Archadeck of Columbus team arrived for this family’s complimentary design consultation, this backyard was having an identity crisis. Over time, several modifications and additions had taken place in the rear landscape resulting in a mosaic of possibilities but without a clear vision for form and function.

It was our pleasure to change that. Take a look at the before and after:

Sometimes The Best Way To Change Things Is To Start With A Blank Canvas

The homeowners thought long and hard about what their ideal outdoor living oasis would look like.

Our task was to make it all happen with cohesive design and excellent taste being deferential to an assembly of natural stone elements balanced with low-maintenance pavers and TimberTech decking.

This project, that encompasses a low-maintenance deck and extensive hardscape, is a prime example to showcase our experience and knowledge by blending materials, shapes, sizes, and colors with pavers and natural stone. To our credit, not many companies are well-versed in the blend of materials such as these.

How To Create A Cohesive And Welcoming Outdoor Living Combination Project That Pleases All Of The Senses

Our Archadeck of Columbus team designed a spacious natural thermal Pennsylvania bluestone patio with a beautifully intricate limestone paver border.

stone deck

Pennsylvania thermal bluestone is most commonly used for driveways, pathways, walkways, sidewalks, patios, and decks where the surface needs to be non-slip. The non-slip surface is created by heat-treating the bluestone until a textured groove is created.

In the spirit of low maintenance, it doesn’t require sealing and is cleaned with only water and a brush. When installed properly, homeowners can expect bluestone to last for decades. Ideal for high traffic applications and practical for patios and pool decks, bluestone provides an alternative to flagstone or other types of natural and fabricated paving stone.

Natural Stone Elements Merge To Create A Truly Memorable Outdoor Living Experience

Our team also used Indiana Limestone cut pavers and Halquist veneer stone on the combination project.

Natural stone is much more than rock that craftsmen build with. It's naturally elegant, pure, and reflects a solid indication of the client’s level of taste personality.

Using Halquist natural stone presents a truly unique image to others and cultivates a deeper form of integrity. Nature makes no excuses, puts on no disguises, hides absolutely nothing, and never settles for less than the real thing. Only natural stone can make these claims.

All of the seating walls, fire pit, pillars, grill, and stair risers are the Halquist stone in Brookfield full color. The ageless beauty of natural stone is exemplified with color tones of Grey, Buff, and Pewter.

Lest We Neglect To Mention The True Champion Of Low-Maintenance Decking – TimberTech

The open porch addition, at the far left of the home rear exterior, was built with TimberTech PRO Legacy synthetic, sustainable decking in the color Pecan.

The structure also features an open air vinyl pergola added for architectural interest with TimberTech riser lights for evening illumination.

For finishing touches, we also built custom planters from pressure-treated pine to add some earthy texture, stained in Gold Dust.
