If you have been enjoying some sort of an outdoor living space for some time, invariably you may want to embellish it, improve it, upgrade it, or turn it into something completely new and exciting.
And that is exactly where this backyard transformation story begins.
We Saved The Original Deck Foundation, Removed The Pergola That Was There, And Made Magic
When we look at this covered back porch project, the one phrase that immediately comes to mind is the quote from Walt Disney film Mary Poppins – “Practically perfect in every way.”
The perfect placement.
The perfect size.
The perfect blend of materials and colors.
The perfect covered roof interior ceiling.
In a word – perfect.
Since we removed the pergola cover that was originally atop the deck, this expert Akron porch builder added posts to adequately support the new gable roof. The gable roof porch design facilitates the downward flow of gentle rainfall to keep family and guests inside the porch dry and comfortable when the weather decides to change at a moment’s notice.
It's The Details That Add Up To Outdoor Living Bliss
As you can see, the new roof cover features gable end post and beam details that add to the tailored architectural aesthetic of the space.
Our construction team used v-groove wood on the interior ceiling and added lighting and a ceiling fan to deliver creature comforts so the family can enjoy the space long into the evening, adding enhanced value to the time spent there.
Speaking of architecture, we matched the shingles to that of the existing home – giving the new porch that “it’s always been there” appeal which is one of our Archadeck hallmarks.
What is important to note is that although this quaint project may not be as expansive as some, it is just what the homeowner wanted and befits the rear landscape – well – perfectly.
In addition to protection from rainy weather, another huge benefit of the gable roof is its ability to add significant shade when needed, and thereby changing the whole aesthetic of the home for the better!
