When our client reached out about a combination space that provided shelter from the elements and combined their existing patio, we quickly formulated a plan to do just that. The existing hardscape patio on this property was a good start but we had to figure out how to make it work with a roof design. Your outdoor gathering and relaxation space should feel like a canvas that welcomes movement and activity, and custom patios are a great way to fulfill this functional requirement. Thus, we decided on a design that included a covered section that aligned seamlessly with the existing patio.
How This Stow OH Covered Patio Came Together
To fully break down the changes we made to create this project, we started by installing a single-slope roof that incorporates Unilock stone pillar bases made with Unilock Brussels dimensional bricks to provide a beautiful looking rock-solid foundation for each pillar holding up the roof addition. These Unilock patio pieces come in numerous colors and textures; this client went with the classically beautiful limestone option.
For the roof, we chose to go with a shingled design to match the aesthetics of this client’s home. To add some tasteful outdoor living comforts, we also included white soffit ceiling lighting as well as ceiling fans and more lighting options.
