What features are most important to you in an outdoor living space? One Garner family asked us to make their backyard more enjoyable by creating a space that they could use in different types of weather and in different seasons throughout the year. Our solution was to design and build a custom three-season room featuring a Belgard paver patio floor and floor-to-ceiling windows. Other amenities include a stacked stone wood-burning fireplace, ceiling fans, and multiple types of lighting.
Paver Patio Flooring
Did you know porches and three-season rooms can be built over a deck or a patio? Due to the topography of this Garner home, we installed a paver patio as the base for their new three-season room. The Belgard Mega Laffit pavers in Hatteras serves as an attractive and functional floor and extends beyond the walls, creating additional outdoor areas to use for cooking and relaxing in the full sunshine. Using the same paver patio throughout the outdoor living spaces ties the different areas together visually, and gives the space an overall sense of flow.
Versatile Vinyl Porch Windows
This Garner three-season room is full of design details that give it a classic look and a comfortable feel. The streamlined floor-to-ceiling WeatherLite vinyl porch windows in bronze create a sense of spaciousness and offer broad views into the surrounding landscape. These durable and attractive windows can be removed to allow free-flowing breezes in ideal weather. However, when the weather is less than ideal or pollen is too heavy, the windows can be closed or opened up to 75% with screens. Easy to maneuver, the family will have complete control of how much fresh air they allow into the space at any given time.
The three-season room’s vaulted ceiling adds to the open, airy feel of the space. The beautiful tongue-and-groove wood ceiling is outfitted with recessed lighting and a ceiling fan for nighttime use and increased airflow.
Rustic Outdoor Fireplace
A gorgeous stone fireplace featuring an Old Barn Rustic Ledgestone veneer and a Bluestone hearth and mantle serves as the visual focal point of this classic three-season room. In addition to lending the space a bit of the rustic aesthetic, the fireplace is also functional. In cooler months and weather, the wood-burning fireplace can be used for warmth and offset the need for a heater. We even wired the necessary cables into the fireplace mantle so that the homeowners can enjoy watching television in their new outdoor living space at any time of the year.
