Timing Is Critical In Building Your New Outdoor Living Space

It’s a quirk of human nature.

You dream of having that long-awaited outdoor living space design finally built – and yet you delay signing the contract to commit.

Why in the world, why?

As they say, “If you snooze, you lose.” And in today’s world of post-pandemic construction, that is truer than ever.

The Time Is Now To Start Enjoying Your Leisure Life Sooner Than Later

The most important timing factor for your new outdoor living project is when you first make the call to Archadeck of Nashville to schedule your design consultation.

The sooner you start the process, the sooner your new deck, porch, 3-season room or paver patio (or combination of these) will be completed.

That’s why you should go ahead and get started now, while spring is in full bloom and summer is just a few weeks behind.

Before you know it, you’ll want to be relaxing out there, hosting outdoor parties, and maybe even getting around to having that family reunion in your fabulous new backyard.

If you take steps now to begin setting up the project, you’ll be showing off your new outdoor living space in time for summer enjoyment, as our lead time is several weeks – so the sooner, the better.

Scheduling Your Outdoor Project Build, First Things First

When you sign a contract with us to build your deck, porch, screened porch, patio, and/or hardscape, we will add your project to our construction schedule.

It is important to keep in mind that we have other jobs underway now throughout the Nashville area. Once you commit to proceed, you will be placed in fair rotation on our construction schedule.

As of now, we have more projects with signed contracts, and each one is scheduled to begin as soon as a current project is completed. Any reputable contractor will have some lead time before they can begin construction on your project.

Designing Your Perfect Outdoor Living Space

Before we start building, we work with you to design the outdoor living space you’ve always dreamed of.

The design process may take several iterations from rough sketches to polished 3-D renderings to achieve the ultimate look, feel, and functionality of what you are truly looking for.

Some clients think of elements they want to add or change each time they see a new version of their design. And that is perfectly okay, because it’s your home. As you continually think about the space, what you want to do in it, and how to relax and enjoy it, new ideas will pop up. But with each change or alteration, we must go back through the drafting department to get those amendments added to the architectural renderings.

When the design of your new space is finalized, we also finalize all of your material choices including the type and color of decking boards; specific stone selections for the patio, walkways, planters, seating walls or fireplace, porch ceilings, railings, pillars and beams, and more.

Knowing precisely what materials you want enables us to give you an exact quote for your project. At that point, we can sign the contract and schedule the job.

We Will Handle Getting Every Permit That Is Needed, So Don’t Stress – We Got This

To comply with local rules on building codes, we must submit architectural renderings and specifications to local permitting agencies, either city or county, depending on where you live.

Sometimes because of their internal logistics, we may encounter delays at these agencies, so the earlier we get started, the better.

We Will Prepare The Plans For Your HOA Approval

As with your permitting process, Archadeck of Nashville will prepare exactly what’s needed. What we cannot predict is how long your Homeowners Association Board will take to approve your plans, so the earlier you submit them, the sooner you will get the green light to proceed.

Since The COVID-19 Pandemic, Some Materials For Your Project May Be Delayed

If for no other reason than this, commit to build your project now – or risk playing that dreadful waiting game for delivery.

Builders and contractors all across the United States are being faced with critical material shortages. Don’t create a situation where you must also wait an exorbitant amount of time. The sooner you give us the go ahead to build, the sooner it will all happen.

We’re Not The Post Office – Weather Can Delay Our Progress

Luckily for us, the Post Office will make every reasonable attempt to deliver our mail on time.

Spoken about 2,500 years ago by the Greek historian, Herodotus,

Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds.”

But that is not the case for building dream spaces outdoors. When heavy rains hit, delays will follow until conditions improve and surfaces and material dry back to their natural state.

Again – don’t wait. You never know when inclement weather will interfere with your building plan.
