The Home & Garden section of The Washington Post hosts designers weekly to address decoration problems in and out of houses. Lisa Becker, of Maryland, was featured in the section to help a family out with their deck.
Aeleen’s family wanted to spend more time on their newly renovated deck, but didn’t know how to make the space more inviting for parties and other occasions.
How did Lisa solve this problem? She used:
- Plenty of seating and tables to make the deck feel like “an outdoor living room”
- An umbrella to provide shade in sunny weather
- Plants to embrace the outdoors
- Pillows and mats to add color and patterns
