When we started our business in Richmond, Virginia, in 1980, Archadeck was a “decks only” company. After expanding to additional locations in 1985, the company quickly became the nation’s largest builder network, specializing in custom-designed and custom-built decks, screened porches, sunrooms, gazebos and related outdoor living structures.
Over the years, we grew and evolved to meet growing consumer demand for more comfortable and complete outdoor living spaces. As the pace and stresses of life increased, more and more people wanted a place to “chill” and find sanctuary away from the demands of jobs, school and crowded calendars. By the late 1990s, the 1960s-style concrete patio had paved the way for a plethora of designs and materials for outdoor living rooms, outdoor kitchens, pool, spa and multi-level decks, sunrooms, porches, porticos, pergolas, hardscapes and outdoor living areas of every description.
Today, Archadeck includes locally owned and operated offices in the U.S. and Canada and has built 100,000 projects worldwide. We believe our competitive edge is our approach to design, with local teams of Design Consultants across North America specializing in creating custom projects for our clients’ outdoor living spaces. We’d like to think our local outdoor building offices offer the best of both worlds: each local office is staffed by trained professionals with an in-depth knowledge of local building law, but every location also has access to Archadeck’s national supply network and established manufacturer relations. We’re very proud of the fact that Archadeck is currently ranked as the top deck and porch builder in the U.S. by Qualified Remodeler magazine and is regularly featured on HGTV.
