Are you considering moving your family to a larger home? Expand smartly with indoor/outdoor square footage!
Most families with children have faced this decision at one time or another – selling your home to upgrade on square footage. But have you considered how expanding indoor and outdoor living space could aptly provide the extra room you are looking for? These homeowners needed more space to spend time with their children, and we gave them just that – inside and outside!
— The custom sunroom and covered porch leads seamlessly to the open deck.
Deck, porch and sunroom outdoor living combinations give families more livable square footage!
We worked with this Hoover, Alabama family to add a custom sunroom onto the back of their home, which can be used in all seasons. We opened up a bay window area in their home and gave them a brand new room that can be used for just about anything – play room, extended dining space, TV room, reading/learning nook, rainy day activity and craft area – the possibilities are virtually limitless! This family will find themselves spending time in a truly custom flex space that looks original to the home, with perfectly matched exterior finishes. The sunroom has lots of windows for optimum light entry. The floor is a low-maintenance, kid-durable wood-look tile. The sunroom opens up with French doors, right onto the covered porch area.
— Plentiful tall windows and light paint and flooring help to create a bright and airy space.
A covered porch and attached open deck expands livable square footage directly off the sunroom
These Lake Crest neighborhood residents will be able to use their sunroom in conjunction with their covered porch, or as a completely separate space. We gave them an expansive covered porch that leads between the sunroom and open deck area. The family will be able to easily traverse the connected spaces for optimal use of their home and backyard. The porch is pressure treated pine. The deck is built with low-maintenance Timbertech Terrain decking in the brown oak color. We used Deckorators aluminum railing, framed in pressure treated wood, which protects the entire outdoor space. Low-profile aluminum pickets are a great way to offer an unimpeded view beyond the railing. An L-shaped landing will sufficiently handle high traffic and takes the family safely from the yard to the deck and back again.
— Notice the custom look that is achieved with diagonally installed deck and porch flooring.
