Our Clients’ Goals
These Raleigh homeowners came to Archadeck with specific goals in mind. They wanted a deck that would give them room to grill outdoors, ample seating, and a graceful transition down into their backyard. They wanted to achieve these goals with a design that didn’t overpower their home or their budget.

What We Did
After learning the project goals, we designed a simple deck that would meld form and function into understated elegance. When we revealed the proposed deck design, our clients were eager to move forward.
To begin, we removed the existing deck to prepare the site for a new one that—at 302 square feet—greatly expanded our clients’ outdoor living footprint. The decking features pressure-treated natural pine complemented by railings with round, black aluminum balusters. This clean, contrasting look offers a fresh, updated aesthetic and maximizes sight lines to the backyard. (Black railings tend to trick the eye and fade more into the scenery than wooden balusters.) A well-placed staircase capitalizes on the shortest distance from the deck down to the backyard and ends in the perfect spot for a firepit.
As you can see from the above image, this Raleigh deck is nicely proportioned to the back of the home and the surrounding landscape. It provides ample room for the activities our clients wanted to enjoy in their outdoor living space – grilling, dining, and relaxing – without overcrowding the house or the yard.
