Cobble Creek Design Details
This Cobble Creek screened porch, boasting a generous 222 square feet, provides ample room for relaxation and gathering. The open gable roof welcomes lots of natural light into the porch, giving the space an airy feel. The Timbertech Prime+ decking boards shine in the popular gray “Terrain” color. The beautifully hued composite decking has the added benefit of never needing to be stained or sealed. It also matches the 200 square foot, open-air deck, connecting the two spaces visually. Having an adjoining deck is perfect for when the homeowner wants to cook out or sit and soak up some warm sunshine.
The porch and deck are also tied together by the Timbertech Radiance Railing in white with black infill that adds a touch of elegance to the new space and complements the overall aesthetic of the home. Because black colors tend to trick the eye and blend in more with the landscape, the dark infill minimizes the visual impact of the railing, allowing the wooded area behind to take center stage.
Overcoming Challenges, Delivering Results
This Cobble Creek deck and porch project wasn't without its challenges. The proximity of the septic infrastructure to the planned location of the porch presented an initial permitting challenge. We worked collaboratively with the homeowner to bring in a professional company that could precisely locate and measure the septic system, ensuring the new structure wouldn't violate any regulations.
Another obstacle involved incorporating existing vents along the exterior wall into the new roof design. Archadeck’s professional design team and construction crew was able to frame the roof to ensure the design didn’t obstruct the existing vents and meet code requirements.
Additionally, we want to point out that this project is an example of the careful attention we pay to every facet of our projects. Choosing a non-professional or less experienced builder may result in a space that does not endure. Archadeck of Raleigh has been called in to rebuild the results of an unqualified contractor. This type of dilemma can be avoided if you choose the right builder from the beginning. Look at the images that show where the porch had collapsed prior to us coming on, because the initial build was not built appropriately.
