We'll be at the BJCC this Saturday and Sunday for the Alabama Home Show. Booth I. That's the letter, not the number one (a couple of people have already asked).

Honestly, the home show is one of our favorite weekends of the year. We get to put faces with names, catch up with folks we built for a few years back, and meet a whole lot of people who are just starting to kick around ideas for their backyard. Some walk up with a full plan. Most walk up with a phone full of screenshots and a "we're not sure yet." Both are fine by us.
When and Where
The show runs Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Sunday, October 11, from 10 until 5. It's in East Hall 2 at the BJCC, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd N, downtown.
Quick tip: don't pay the $10 at the door. The show is handing out free passes on their website, so grab one before you head over.

Why Talk Decks in October?
Fair question. It's football season, the leaves have barely turned, and spring feels a long way off.
But here's what we see every single year. Come March, it seems like everybody from Hoover to Homewood decides this is finally the year for the screened porch. The phone rings nonstop. Permits back up. And the people who started talking to us in the fall? They're already out there with a glass of sweet tea while everyone else is still waiting on drawings.

Also, a cool fall night is a pretty good way to figure out what you want. If you catch yourself wishing you had a fire pit right now, that tells us something.
What We'll Have at Booth I
Our team will be there both days. Bring whatever you've got: photos of your yard, a rough measurement, a sketch on the back of an envelope. We like envelopes.
We'll have project photos to flip through, and we're glad to get into the weeds on stuff like composite vs. wood, whether your slope is going to be a problem (in Birmingham it usually is, at least a little), or what a realistic budget looks like.

If you're new to us, we build decks, screened porches, porches and pergolas, along with outdoor kitchens, fire features and sunrooms. A lot of our favorite jobs are combination spaces, where two or three of those get stitched together.
Maybe your old deck has a board or two that gives a little when you step on it. Maybe you just want somewhere covered to watch the Iron Bowl without getting rained on. Whatever it is, come tell us. If it makes sense, we can get a free design consultation on the calendar before you leave.
Walk the Whole Show, too
There's a lot more than us in East Hall 2. Kitchen folks, bath folks, window and door people, landscapers... it's an efficient way to cram a month of research into one afternoon. Some exhibitors run show-only deals, so it's worth asking around.
Just don't skip Booth I on your way out.
Can't Come?
That's okay. Call Carissa or Derek at 205-576-5780, or send us a note here and we'll get back to you.
See you Saturday, hopefully.
