When Archadeck of Birmingham met with these Brook Highland, AL homeowners to discuss updating their backyard deck, they had what many would call the perfect space (well, almost).
What they had was a luxurious infinity pool and hot tub along with a stunning, mature, wooded landscape and breathtaking views of Lake Purdy. The only thing holding the area back from complete perfection was their existing pressure-treated deck with a pressure-treated builder rail.
These customers were return clients to Archadeck of Birmingham. We had worked with them on a previous project when they lived in Eagle Point, and were elated to work with them on their new house. What they yearned for in this new home, was a deck that matched all the beauty surrounding it, and one that better addressed their lakeside and poolside outdoor living needs. Archadeck of Birmingham was able to come up with the perfect updated deck design that encompasses all of this and more!
We updated the existing deck space using the same footprint of the old deck using low-maintenance TimberTech Terrain decking in Silver Maple. The TimberTech decking delivers not only added aesthetics, it also reduces the need for maintenance. Never having to deal with the chore of sanding, staining or sealing the deck affords more time to enjoy the aspects of what outdoor living is all about – lakeside living and poolside enjoyment with friends and family!
Taking the upgraded design a step farther, we added a custom stainless steel cable rail. The design of the rail allows for better views into the backyard and beyond, and adds a contemporary urban feel too the whole space.
Since a recent windstorm had damaged the deck frame and pulled it away from the house, Archadeck of Birmingham did have to replace the deck frame. However we were able to retain the posts.
We also jazzed up the skirting along the landing using a solid-board design that adds even more of the modern aesthetic to the overall design.
