Archadeck of Birmingham designed and built this lovely outdoor living space back in 2003. Fast forward to 2020, these Vestavia Hills clients called on us to revive their wood deck.
We love our return clients! This beautiful backyard space is truly a space of calm retreat – a backyard Nirvana, if you will. These homeowners trusted us over fifteen years ago to help them create their backyard respite, and we were so happy to return to update their aging, full sun-exposed wood deck with an all-new finish.

Searching for a deck builder in Vestavia Hills? Call Archadeck!
You might notice that this wooden deck has a floating effect. Situated at the ground level, we were able to leave it completely open, without a deck railing installation. This not only expands the usable space of the deck, but it gives it a truly unique aesthetic. Unobtrusive, it simply melds with the surrounding landscape. For this project, only the exposed portion of the deck needed replacing. We simply tore up the old decking boards and replaced them with all-new pressure-treated pine decking. Notice the decking board orientation, which gives the space a dynamic visual effect.

Multi-level, multi-purpose wood deck
This deck has two separate levels, spanning the back of these clients’ home in Vestavia Hills. The upper level is partially protected with a roof, but also has areas that are open to full sun. One full side is dedicated to outdoor grilling and smoking, but still had plenty of room for spill-over seating for entertaining. The lower deck level has its own entry points via the French doors in the home. This is a perfect scenario for entertaining, as it encourages easy traffic flow going into and out of the home from the deck. Any number of outdoor relaxation or entertaining activities can be had upon this unique deck.
