The original deck in this space was built from pressure-treated wood. When Archadeck arrived for the design consultation, we noticed all the signals of an old wooden deck in need of replacement, including splintering, etc. Since the deck serves as the go between from the home to the backyard pool, we came up with a plan to totally transform the area.
Not only does the deck space serve as the segway between the house and pool, but the homeowners just had the pool resurfaced. We wanted to make sure the area was revitalized making it look just as fresh! We were also poised to create a new feel in the area so the customers would look forward to utilizing the space for years to come.
To create a space that cuts down on the need for maintenance the homeowners chose TimberTech decking from the Reserve Collection in the Antique Leather color. This decking is extremely durable and constructed with longevity in mind. Additionally, since the decking is capped on all four sides, it is extremely resistant to moisture intrusion. These elements make it a perfect choice for a poolside deck.
For added aesthetics, we trimmed the deck out in TimberTech in Dark Roast and added a parting board. The deck railing also received a low-maintenance refresh with the addition of TimberTech Radiance Railing in the color Kona. The finishing touch is the custom planter Archadeck of Birmingham created using the two tones of the decking, the perfect place for the homeowners can add touches of seasonal color.
The homeowners love the newly updated space and are looking forward to spending more quality time using it!
