At Archadeck of Birmingham, it’s not just about building new decks. It’s about creating outdoor spaces, often times from previous builds, which will better accommodate the homeowners and their guests. This Shelby County composite deck project is one such story.
As with many Shelby County homeowners today, this family wanted to upgrade their existing outdoor living area to low-maintenance. Though that was our overall goal, this project wasn’t only about the composite deck. Elements of their existing porch were in need of rehab, and Archadeck of Birmingham was pleased to answer the call.
We are your trusted Shelby County composite deck builder!
The new composite deck was constructed with TimberTech PRO Terrain decking. With TimberTech’s four-sided capping technology and a 25-year fade and stain warranty, this family will be enjoying their new deck for many years to come. This is a true low-maintenance deck, which will see many hours of enjoyment, and much less time maintaining than the standard wood deck.

Furthering the low-maintenance function of the space, we installed an all-aluminum railing. This powder-coated railing too, will withstand many years of exposure, and require only a quick wipe or spray to keep clean of dust and debris.
A bit of porch TLC was a must!
This family had an existing covered porch, which required attention. Over years of exposure, certain aspects of the porch had aged past the best usability. Archadeck of Birmingham got to work re-constructing and replacing crucial elements of the porch, including porch walls and posts to suspend the existing roof, as well as the soffit and gutters. Whether your outdoor living space is in need of a total makeover, an addition for more space, or re-building and replacing aged elements,
Archadeck of Birmingham can help!
