Archadeck Of Austin Restores This Forest Creek Backyard In Round Rock TX

Following an unexpected and severe ice storm impacting this golf course home’s exterior yard, its outdoor living combination deck space was rendered not as functional and safe as it previously was.

That’s when master designer, Jim Schallon, rose to the occasion with the perfect restoration plan.

Where There Once Was A Wood Deck Built Over A Patio That Became Unsalvageable, Arose A Golden Opportunity

To correct issues resulting from the storm, Archadeck of Austin made sure to design and construct the new space where it would drain water and not trap any water behind the new hardscape foundation.

Before.

After.

For this transformational process, the team built a patio with a decorative concrete overlay in a Flagstone pattern additionally, where the exposed aggregate pool patio was now has the same decorative overlay in Flagstone, too.

Before.

After.

Notice that in the backyard upgrade the pathways are also constructed of the same concrete with decorative overlay Flagstone as well. Details. Details. Details.

Also significant was addressing a proper drainage issue for the future, we installed a gravel base and made it larger than normal to keep debris from rushing into the French drain. In addition, there is a newly installed silted drain pipe that runs under the patio to the other side with a gravity discharge basin.

Let There Be Light For Beautification And Safety

The extension of patio stairs needed new riser lights in the stairs as the original wiring was no longer functional. No problem!

And speaking of light, we installed a new Cedar privacy wall behind the new slatted pergola which was built by others. The combo makes a beautiful architectural embellished adjacent to the lovely inground swimming pool.

The area now accommodates six deep-seated outdoor chairs and plush cushions for shaded and private leisure lounging.

A Standout Outdoor Kitchen Completes This Makeover Scenario

Designed in two sections to better complement the space, the new outdoor kitchen has a 12-foot overhang.

We constructed the stone wall that encompasses the outdoor kitchen area in a perennial favorite -- White Limestone.

The opposite side now features a 52-inch Timberline XL Pellet-Fed Grill with an infrared burner.
