With Archadeck of Suburban Boston, it is our pleasure to bring you the very best of everything. And for this fortunate Lynnfield, MA family, here’s living proof.
This bland backyard, that resembled an apartment house, was transformed into a grand outdoor living destination.
A blank canvas like this inspires our creativity in designing and building outdoor living oases that have earned us national recognition.
MUCH ADO ABOUT REALLY SOMETHING
Phase one of transforming this stark backyard into an outdoor living sanctuary was the design and construction of a second level deck.
To keep it as maintenance-free as possible, we chose AZEK Acacia decking. This PVC decking foundation has a rich, tropical hardwood look for elegance and durability.
And to keep the deck surface as seamless and free flowing as possible, the AZEK Acacia PVC decking was installed using hidden fasteners with Cortex plugs.
Our construction team loaded this freestanding deck with details, all on one level. The design features a parting board and an octagonal pattern, which was visibly heightened as we outlined the octagonal shape.
Take a look at these beautiful stone pillars.
To facilitate the under deck drainage system, new gutters and downspouts were installed on this project as well to keep the patio underneath dry.
OUTDOOR RELAXATION STARTS WITH BUILT-IN DECK SEATING
On the deck, we added built-in seats that serve a dual purpose. The seats lift up for storage.
The footprint of the deck features a large span to accommodate various seating groups, a barbecue grill station, comfortable swivel chairs and an outdoor dining table and chairs.
ACCOLADES FROM OUR PEERS AND THE OUTDOOR LIVING EXPERTS
Featured in the Journal of Light Construction (JLC), December 2011 issue, this freestanding deck project was heralded for its effective use of bracing and use of light steel beams.
Life under the deck is also worth mentioning. The ceiling underneath the deck is made from a rubber roof system with a hidden gutter system. This well protected lower area now features an outdoor television under the deck, as well as a ceiling fan.
In addition to being featured in JLC, this project also earned a Gold CotY Award (Contractor of the Year) in the Residential Exterior category from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
This project also received recognition and appreciation came from the Archadeck Outdoor Living national enterprise itself, as Archadeck of Suburban Boston was further honored with the First Place Award in the Decks category.
