We used new materials to give the deck a fresh start.
After carefully removing the old structure, we rebuilt the new deck using the same footprint. But this time, we used TimberTech Prime+ composite decking in Sea Salt Grey—a clean, modern color that complemented the home’s exterior. Composite was the ideal upgrade: low maintenance, long-lasting, and perfect for Georgia’s hot summers and chilly winters.
The stairs and drink rail were rebuilt using the same composite, while the railing system itself blended classic and contemporary elements. We used pressure-treated pine posts, black metal pickets, and the same Sea Salt Grey composite for the drink rails. The end result was a smart, sturdy hybrid design that looked great and was built to last.
Composite materials have come a long way, and the new TimberTech Prime+ is strikingly similar to painted wood in appearance, but with much greater durability. We also installed square lattice skirting for dry under-deck storage and added an integrated access door for convenience.
