Take a Look at This Stunning Redeck in Miamisburg, OH!

Some homeowners may assume that the only way to get an amazing deck like this one is by tearing off their old deck and starting from scratch. This is certainly not always the case. Redecking, which is also often called deck resurfacing, is a very viable option if the structural components of your existing deck are in good shape.

Archadeck of West Central & Southwest Ohio can conduct a thorough deck evaluation in order to determine if redecking is an option for you. The key elements we look at during this evaluation are the quality of the original substructure and how it has weathered or degraded over time. We also determine if any applicable building codes have changed since the deck was originally installed. If we do perform a redeck, we will make sure to comply with these codes as well.

As was the case with these Miamisburg, OH, homeowners, their original pressure-treated pine deck’s substructure was deemed fit for redecking. Having the option to redeck saved these clients time and money over the cost of an all-new structure from the ground up!

Redecking from PT Pine to Low-Maintenance Decking

Low maintenance decking allow more time to focus on living outdoors instead of working outdoors

These clients were not only looking to update their backyard deck, but they also wanted to choose a decking material that required less upkeep than wood. They chose beautiful and resilient Armadillo Lifestyle composite decking from our expansive materials menu for their project in the ever-popular Campfire color. This decking is durable and a great value with decking boards wrapped on all sides and a protective shell that guards against fading, weathering, stains, mold, and mildew.

We topped off the low-maintenance qualities by using an aluminum rail whereas the original deck featured wood. The new rail not only looks the part, but it will also require little to no upkeep on the part of the homeowner — another win/win!
