This design transformed a ho-hum patio into a real head-turner that perfectly complements the home’s existing style and architecture. The new covered patio is a multi-functional modern beauty featuring an outdoor kitchen/bar area and a centrally located two-sided outdoor fireplace that functions as both a focal point and room divider to create two unique outdoor living spaces under a single roof. The natural wood beams and mantel, clean white tongue-in-groove cathedral ceiling, white brick finishes on the fireplace and kitchen bar, and power-black support posts create a serene and calming contemporary open space. The patio itself is set in an artistic herringbone pattern with a border along the exterior as further definition between the living spaces. The final design touch is a coordinating low planter wall offering all-important camouflage for the adjacent HVAC unit.

We love how this porch transformed an entry from nice to WOW! The front of this beautiful Colonial-style home got a makeover along with a big boost of some serious curb appeal. The original covered entry was effective, but honestly nothing to shout about. In comparison, the new covered front entry porch is significantly larger and loaded with welcoming detail to really make a statement. New double columns support a substantial roof that doesn’t overpower the rest of the home’s architecture. Siding in a contrasting color really makes it pop, and the white trim and base plus elegant curved dark wooden steps create inviting visual interest. The home’s bright red front door is now a real focal point from the street and from the brand-new stone sidewalk that guides visitors all the way in — remember, Archadeck can do structures and hardscapes to match. The result is an impressive grand front entry that updates the look of the whole house.
3. Pool Patio and Pergola
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Is this a backyard or a resort? This new pool patio and pergola combination transformed this home’s pool area into a glamorous five-star destination. It’s now an entirely new outdoor living space perfect for entertaining and fun. The centerpiece is the breathtaking multi-level pergola, which is not only the star visual attraction but also offers a shady space to gather out of the hot sun — without blocking the gorgeous waterfront view. The pergola’s dark color is a stunning contrast to the rest of the pool area and the home’s exterior. The comparison between the original pavers and the slick new ceramic tile is like night and day, and the new patio’s raised positioning sets it apart from the rest of the yard with a single step up that adds to its sophisticated styling. No detail is overlooked in this incredible space, from the curved outer lines of the patio, to the stacked stone pillars supporting the pergola, to the contrasting tile pattern surrounding the pool. 4. Multi-level Deck
Chicago, Illinois
Talk about the ultimate deck! This incredible multi-level deck transformed the entire look of this home and added valuable outdoor living square footage for everything from quiet family evenings to the party of the year. The deck runs the full length of the back of the home, creating convenient gathering areas with multiple points of entry and blending the boundaries between inside and out. There’s space galore in this design, from the upper-level seating area, to the expansive mid-level deck featuring a dining area under a shady pergola, to the lower-level seating area surrounding a fire table. The two-tone color selection gives class and visual consistency to the entire deck, with the gray composite decking planned for striking contrast with the darker borders and railings throughout. Diagonal board placement, clean lines, and the cable-and-iron railing give the deck modern styling. Built-in lighting enhances the nighttime look while adding safety after dark. Finally, the steps to the yard were thoughtfully placed for central access and traffic flow from every level while also protecting the intimate feel of each gathering space.
