As most of our Austin patio builder custom designs and installations are project based – “I want a new deck,” “I’d love a new covered patio,” “We’re ready for that new combination sunroom and patio hardscape,” – this total Austin backyard transformation in far southwest Austin, TX, is quite another story.
To coin a phrase from the once popular Sunday evening telecast “Extreme Makeover,” our team had its hearts, hands, and meticulous design eyes all over everything. And it is more than obvious from any angle and perspective.
As Jim Odom, our local Archadeck owner and franchisee points out, photographing this spectacularly massive and stunning project was difficult.
Before Archadeck of Austin began the backyard transformation.
This is because it is not very often that we get to remodel the entire backyard, and we mean ENTIRE. Honestly, there wasn't a single inch of this outdoor living oasis creation that we didn't touch.

From replacing the wooden decks that were originally there, to the new pool surround, our team outdid themselves. And since we are a preferred AZEK deck builder, that was our first choice for this Austin deck build.
On the Main Level of this project you’ll discover AZEK synthetic decking, in the color choice of Coastline with a Dark Hickory border.
And next is the new hot tub deck with a custom privacy screen, which makes me envious just thinking about those swirling warm restorative waters. After the hot tub, maybe a quick plunge into the in-ground pool below, resplendently surrounded by a concrete stamped patio featuring a flagstone stamp and a lime/quartz overlay.

Footsteps from the pool, we designed a bench, and an L-shaped kitchen island (best for functional flow when preparing food and grilling).
Yes, Archadeck Thought Of Everything
Naturally, being the pet lovers that we all are, how could we possibly forget the family dogs?
The entire backyard transformation is now surrounded by a beautiful new fence using Fortress Aluminum rail in black, and on the side yard we added synthetic "Pet Turf" for the pets to do what they need to do – as dogs daily do. (wink, wink)
To accentuate and protect the covered outdoor living space areas, we selected Synergy Wood for the ceilings.
Their Cypress and Southern Pine wood ceiling is simply stunning, for those frequent “glances up” in catching glimpses of the Austin blue sky.
And speaking of looking upward, notice the new lights, new fans, peripheral deck lights, and that Hideaway privacy screen.
As for other screening features, you’ll discover a new Hardie skirt around the base of the multi-level structure with doors for protected storage in two convenient locations, made even more accessible after dusk with new outdoor lights under the deck.
For the crowning touch, the top Second Level was also crafted with AZEK decking, more Fortress rail, a handsome custom pergola with Topgal cover, and of course, new gutters to facilitate our occasional Austin rains.
