These Pfafftown, NC homeowners get a new screened porch where the bugs are at bay and the outdoor livin' is easy

Our recently completed project in Pfafftown NC is not only beautiful, it defines easy backyard living here in the Carolinas.

These homeowners wanted a way to utilize more backyard space to enjoy outdoor living; they also wanted a space that kept the nagging mosquitoes and other insects away. The new screened porch we built has now become these homeowners’ favorite spot in the house.

Before image of porchWe used the footprint of the existing deck which had a Northwest orientation and expanded upon it with a screened porch that functions more like a three-season room. The screened porch is designed with an open end gable roof and white Eze-Breeze windows. This window system enables the homeowner to choose how much window versus how much screen is open or closed at any given time. These window systems offer up to 75% ventilation and are attractive, strong, versatile and easy to operate. This screened porch can be enjoyed well up into the cooler seasons with the addition of Eze-Breeze windows. In addition to the added versatility these windows provide within the space, these elements keep the beauty of the outdoors close at hand without the dangers of harmful UV rays from the sun or the threat of insects. We also added a white full-view screen door and square white vinyl lattice under the exterior of the space to give it a picture perfect finish.

The interior of the screened porch is just as breathtaking as the exterior. We used white beaded vinyl to finish the ceiling, and wrapped the posts in white vinyl. The use of vinyl not only looks clean and uniform within the space, it will also require little or no maintenance so the homeowners can spend their time enjoying their new space rather than maintaining it. The floor was finished with a beautiful ceramic tile in a neutral color which will help repel dirt and makes it the perfect spot for the family’s dog to meander on those long afternoons with the family.

The interior of this 3-season room includes beautiful ceramic tile, vinyl beadboard ceilings and vinyl wrapped columns that add formality and convenience to the space.

Along with the addition of the screened porch space we also replaced the railing on the homeowner’s front porch and replaced the kitchen railing with low maintenance white vinyl railing. This is just one example of the many ways Archadeck of The Piedmont Triad strives to accommodate your outdoor and interior living needs for the better.
