Fabulous Eze-Breeze Porch with Wrap-around Porch in Clemmons NC

What an amazing way to upgrade an outdoor living space. When we arrived for our initial site visit on this Clemmons porch project, we saw an aging wooden porch that had a walkway that needed some TLC.

In the covered areas the decking boards were in good shape, but the ones with greater exposure to the elements, especially our North Carolina sun, needed to be replaced. Our solution has given the family lots of extra usable space that has tremendous versatility and potential for fun.

What was once an old screened porch is now an Eze-Breeze 3-season room with a wrap-around porch covered by a pergola. You’ll have to go a long way before you see anything that takes advantage of a verdant view as well as this. Kick back and relax in the interior room or take a stroll on the exterior walkway and you still have sun protection thanks to the polycarbonate Greensboro pergola roof.

Adjoining the Eze-Breeze room there is a huge open-air seating area that could easily accommodate a grill or wet bar. Our clients decided to install their grill in the covered area underneath the porch, but when you have that kind of space, you also get plenty of choices and the flexibility to change your mind if you want. Foot traffic flow from there moves naturally left to right to a smaller, quieter covered area or to the stairs down to the yard.

Deck walkwayWe adore how this third space on the end came together. A second pergola creates symmetry between the left and right sides of the home, but this smaller pergola porch clearly has a different calling. Its separation from the main house and the other outdoor common areas makes it perfect for reading, quiet conversation or just enjoying the view of the neighboring farm. Yet, it could still be brought into service as a social area for a party. This would be a natural seating area for older relatives who want a little break from the hubbub of activity.

At a glance, you might not be able to tell, but this whole Winston-Salem elevated porch project is a low-maintenance gem. We saved money by keeping as much of the existing wood as possible. Archadeck cleaned and sealed the flooring and then wrapped the vertical features in the sunroom to make them easy to care for and increase their lifespan. The aluminum pergolas and vinyl railings are similarly a snap to clean.
