This project, located in Indian point, Nova Scotia, on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Our client had a very small front landing, on the front of the house where there was a beautiful ocean view. They wanted us to design and build a much larger front, and side wraparound deck to enjoy the ocean view, and enjoy a sunny side of the property.

Because the view was so important, we selected a topless glass railing with aluminum posts. Our clients wanted low maintenance decking, and low maintenance railing materials to be used, so that the decking, and railing would last a long time, and also require very little maintenance. This wide expansive deck replaced a small front landing that was not functional for grilling, or entertaining. The wraparound portion of the deck connected the outdoor living space to a previously constructed home addition.

The railing featured tempered glass panels, and powder coated aluminum posts. The decking was timbertech terrain rustic elm composite decking. Hidden, concealed deck fasteners were used to give a finished floor look to the deck. Stainless steel fasteners were specified because of the salt water exposure.
