Before we got to work, this back entrance was uneven, unsafe, and uninspiring. We worked with the Halifax homeowner to create a plan for a more inviting space.
Using natural flagstone, we leveled the entrance area and cleaned up the edges. In order to keep some existing foliage, we left a small unpaved garden under the window. To create a more defined garden on the sloped side, we built a small curved retaining wall. The wall will keep the soil from washing down the hill into the paved area as well as creating a beautiful visual design detail.
