Red, white, blue, and “decking” out for the 4th of July! A true American tradition of grilling out, hanging out, and of course, the best part, fireworks! There’s no better holiday known for outdoor festivities and fun. With this historical celebration just around the corner, there is so much to get ready for, but who needs all the stress? With all of the relatives, food, and planning it can be easy to lose sight of simplicity and celebrating our history of independence, the very thing that gave us the ability to have this amazing time with friends and family. So how do we give honor to this one-of-a-kind holiday without losing sight of its significance or giving in to the stress? We choose to simply let go and remember!
Like most holidays, there is a reason for the season. This day was made to remember the American dream and all the work it took to get here. All of our veterans that serve our country day after day to protect our inalienable rights, all of our politicians who strive to make our country better, and all of our family that we love so dearly and get to spend this grand day with. So first things first, choose to take a trip down history lane and do something to remember all of the fallen and the freedom. You could do this by putting little flags in all the neighbors’ yards, volunteering at a veterans shelter, or even doing something simple from the comforts of your own home, such as posting on social media to honor this day, or even hosting an in home remembrance “cook off” with friends and family!
Not only do we want to remember this historic day in American history, we want to do it justice. How do we do that? We have a day filled with friends, family, and fun! The first thing that comes to mind when we think of 4th of July is, of course, fireworks! This is a must on this day to get out and enjoy the view of some beautiful bursts of color. But don’t stop there! The 4th of July is the perfect day to enjoy time in your outdoor kitchen and patio! So get out, and grill out. Get the hamburgers going, and the lawn chairs out for a day of outdoor fun. Games, pool parties, or even a small chili cook off just for the fun of it – create your own day and have a happy holidays!
