Thanks to Archadeck of Morris (NJ) for the use of this photo. The flooring used was Ipe (pronounced ee-pay), which is an extremely durable wood for outdoor projects. With a regular maintenance plan, Ipe has a rich, dark appearance as shown here. If low maintenance is your preference, Ipe can be allowed to weather to a silvery-gray patina as shown in the previous photo.
